A Weekend Scraping Retreat and Some Time with the Internet

I have a quick moment with computer access so I wanted to upload a couple of the cards that I made this weekend at Ruth Mountain Inn in Arab (big "A" pronounced with a long "a" sound and has emphasis on the 1st syllable), AL. Being short on time I will describe the weekend in one word for now "Wonderful!" This cute Santa is from the awesome PTI collection. I used liquid applique for his beard and white furry trim. His tag is a Cuttlebug die.
The images and sentiment for this card is from Creative Obsession. I colored him using my Prisma colored pencils and Gamsol. The sentiment is not attached yet because I wanted to add some of the Queen & Co. mini brads before attaching w/ Stamping Dimensionals. Thanks to everyone for stopping by. Take care!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Missing All My Blogging Friends

We are still having computer woes at my house. DH is trying to decide what we need to do about a new computer- if you don't know engineers like to research things-lol. DD had an ancient Dell in her bedroom that was used for games, etc. so DH moved it in to the study and hooked it into the internet. The software is Windows 98 and it ask if you want to "debug" a gazzillion times a day (this is NOT an exageration)! Anyway, I can look at my e-mail but not reply or sent and I can look at blogs but often cannot leave a comment. As for this, I am not sure it will post even as I type because I have tried several times before. I do have some cards to share and I am hoping to visit a friends soon so I can get some photos posted. Thanks to all who have continued to stop by my blog! Y'all are wonderful! Take care!

Crash & Burn

Our computer completely crashed today. I will post as I can. Hopefully, it will not be too long before we are up and running but at this time looks like a new computer.

Hello, Sweet Pea!!!!

. This is a quick baby card I made for my husband to take to a co-worker who recently had a very sweet baby girl. The main image for this is Sweetpea from Lockhart Stamp Company colored in with Stampin' Write markers that coordinate with the Little Girls PP ( Regal Rose w/ Creamy Caramel layered on top of it, Ruby Red, Garden Green, and Sage Shadow.) This is such a sweet 8 x8 paper kit from Cosmo Cricket! The main image and the mat are punched with Marvy Uchida punches. The layout for the card is last weeks sketch challenge at SCS- these are fun, beautiful and perfect when you need to put together a quick card. I did twink it a bit because in the sketch the main image is shown as a square. I felt the circle with the scalloped edges softened the layout a bit- perfect for a baby girl card. All edges have been sponged with Chocolate Chip ink. I used my craft knife to cut out the little flowers on the lower right hand corner to act as a "photo corner" then added some faux stitching and a little brown velvet brad in the left hand corner for balance. The ribbon is Chocolate Chip 5/8" grosgrain. The next few days will be very busy. Besides the Thursday GS meeting, the Simply Southern Scrapbook Convention is coming to my home town this year. It will take place this Thursday, Friday and Saturday (October 4th -6th.) I am assisting my upline teach 2 classes and she and I are taking 1 class and participating in a crop together. I am so... excited about that because she and I rarely get to craft for fun together! And I can't forget the vendors on Friday and Saturday!!! So I may not have time to show cards or pages BUT definitely stay tuned. I will be offering details for blog candy in honor of World Card Making Day on Thursday evening.
