Oh (so sweet) Baby Girl!

The VIC (Very Important Customer) crop was today at our LSS and between all the eating and talking, we did manage to get a little bit of scrapbookin' and card makin' done! I worked on a couple of cards for our May technique club meeting using Pearl-Ex and was very pleased how they turned out. As soon as the club meets I'll share those samples along with the tutorial. Pearl-Ex is a super medium. It is both beautiful and versatile. Since I can't share those cards right away, here is a card that I made for the birth of my daughter's new cousin. Her father is a big Alabama fan so I hope he enjoys the fact that this is an elephant card (not to mention the fact that is was made by a die-hard Tennessee fan)! I completely CASE'd this card from one made by Betsy Veldman for the April/May 2007 "Paper Trends." This idea book was a birthday gift to me by my dear friend Dianna. Yes, I'm finally 29- and I'm here to tell you that it has been the best 11 years of my life! Anyway, the book is chock full of ideas that I can't wait to try out, along with the other wonderful gifts from the rest of my ever so thoughtful scrapbooking buddies! This little gal is cut from an actual size template included in the book. Her patterned paper is Basic Grey and lo and behold I actually had the elephant paper, the striped paper and the same colors of Bazzill CS in a group to do a scrapbook layout. It doesn't get any more convenient than that. Now Betsy actually went and sewed the big floppy ear on her elephant but I was not going to get my machine out at 2am so I scored mine, attached it with redline sticky tape and did a faux stitching technique. Stampin' Up! has hands down the best white gel pen that I have ever used. You can actually journal right on your photos with it! To finish her up, I stamped a sentiment from the SU Riveting set and cut out mats with the Coluzzle circle template. Even though it is an elephant, I think she turned out right cute. I wanted to get an entry in this evening. My in-laws are coming down from Knoxville tomorrow so my husband and I will be in a cleaning frenzie tomorrow morning and I'm in ACLS class for work on Monday and Tuesday. Hopefully, I'll have time to "play and share" by mid- week. Wishing a blessed week to all!!!!!

This really turned out well. Too cute. I also like the circle/tag around his ear.
