Paying It Forward

I have been very blessed lately. We have completed the new craft studio/homeschool classroom (although it is currently empty), I was randomly selected for Beate's weekend sketch challenge a couple of weeks ago and besides getting some Hero Arts note cards that I had been admiring I got a card from no other than Beate herself (I'll share that soon) AND I was randomly chosen by Angel at Angelosity for some really yummy blog candy (I will share that soon, as well.) Due to my good fortune, I felt very strongly about "paying it forward." So I've been trying to come up with some real yummy goodies. I wanted to take a photo of the goodies but my camera batteries gave out on me tonight so I'll have to list them today and will add a photo tomorrow: A Bo Bunny 6x6 Bare Naked Binder, a selection of Autumn Leaves buttons, some of the new velvet flowers and a kraft coffee bag from Papertrey Ink, and of course, some Delicious ribbon! What do you do to be selected randomly for these fun items. Simply answer the following question as a comment to this post: What is your favorite craft storage solution? It can either be one that you have implemented or one that you've heard about and would like to try. As I organize my new room, I'd love to know what has worked for others to see if it would fit into my space! Now about my new space, I have to first brag about DH. He and my dad did a remarkable job with the laminent flooring! It is absolutely beautiful and even better than I ever imagined! It has taken a while to finish replacing the baseboards (ended up having to get new ones for 3 out of 4 walls), installing quarter round, filling in nail holes, caulking, patching and painting (life keeps getting in the way) but it was officially finished tonight (other than replacing the light fixture for the ceiling fan that is still in the box in our garage.) I did get a few pictures before the camera pooped out. I'm so excited to share them!

Wow! Looks like a great space. I should take a picture of mine. I literally stamp in a closet. :) As far as storage I am all about the cheap plastic shoe boxes you can buy for about a buck at Target or Wal-Mart. Of course I shut the doors to the closet when I'm done stamping so I don't have to look at it. If I had a space as nice as yours I would probably use baskets or canvas bins. By the way, are you feeling better? I'm doing tons better today. Yesterday I felt awful. I felt like my head was going to explode but I couldn't even cry because if I did I couldn't breathe. Pretty pathetic, eh? :) Anyway, hope you are better by now!

Wow you have a great room there, lots of space, I love, don't know if it would be considered a storage solutuion or not, but a peg board, it allows me to hang up all the bits and bobs, scissors, punches, eyelet tins, ribbons, etc, right where I can see them.

You have a great room there, lots of room. Do you live next to an Ikea store...they have a great bookcase for $99. nice & sturdy that fits 12X12 scrapbooks if you do scrapping too. It also fits those cloth bins & looks great, my friend has one & it looks great. I'm saving to buy one by Christmas for my craft room. Good luck.

What a beautiful craft room. One organizational strategy/too I use is a file cabinet. I keep my cardstock in hanging folders in a file cabinet...I keep the scraps in the front of each file and the full 8 1/2 x 11' sheets behind the scraps...each color in its own file. The color families are separated and then I have them alphabetized. Have fun in your new room.

Beth, I finally got to look at your blog....it is GREAT ! ! ! You will really love the new flooring. I wish I could do that, but I'm happy just to have my room painted and new plantation blinds. I need to come see yours soon if I could just get well. I hope you feel better too!

What a fabulous looking room! As for organization, I'm still searching myself. I think one of the better things I did was buy some storage drawers made by Cropper Hopper, I think. They have ribbon cards that fit each container and I've been able to organize my bits of ribbon that aren't on spools. I've also seen people take corrugated plastic or cardboard and cutting to fit the size of a photo storage box. Then they've wound their ribbon around those cards - a much less expensive option.
Good luck in your new space!!
